7月10日，应伟德betvlctor1946邀请，香港科技大学施凌教授于长清湖校区伟德betvlctor1946506会议室做了题为“My Personal Opinions on What's Important for a Postgraduate Student”的报告。报告会由伟德betvlctor1946王振华老师主持，学院部分教师、研究生聆听了此次报告。
报告会中，施凌教授首先介绍了自己的求学经历。然后与同学们分享了自己做科研的经验，主要从研究方法、时间管理计划、团队合作、写作技巧、语言表达等方面给同学们提出了建议。最后，施凌教授希望同学们在做研究时要保持一颗平常心，不攀比，不气馁，同时保持身体健康和心理健康。
在报告会交流环节，在场的师生踊跃发言提问，施凌教授对师生们提出的问题，进行了一一地解答交流，并与同学们分享了一些自己的学习方法，使同学们受益匪浅。
Ling Shi received the B.S. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Kowloon, Hong Kong, in 2002 and the Ph. D. degree in Control and Dynamical Systems from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA USA in 2008. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests include cyber physical systems securty, networked control systems, sensor scheduling, event-based state estimation, and exoskeleton robots. He is a senior member of IEEE. He served as an editorial board member for The European Control Conference 2013- 2016. He has been serving as a subject editor for international Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control from March 2015, an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems from July 2016, and an associate editor for IEEE Control Systems Letters from Feb 2017.
