7月8日，应伟德betvlctor1946邀请，新加坡南洋理工大学林维斯教授于长清湖校区伟德betvlctor1946506会议室做了题为“Estimating Just-Noticeable Differences for Multimedia Signals”的学术报告。报告会由伟德betvlctor1946副院长孙建德教授主持，学院部分教师、研究生聆听了此次报告。
报告会中，林维斯教授介绍了图像处理方面的相关问题，并详细介绍了自己团队做的一些关于JND方面的工作。通过深入的视觉信号案例研究，对JND的研究和实践提出一个整体观点。让我们了解到JND真正的作用是一个重要的声音。最后，林维斯教授还为我们介绍了影响JND的其他因素，包括文化、个性等。
在报告会交流环节，林维斯教授对老师和同学们提出的问题进行了详细的解答，使同学们受益匪浅。通过此次报告会，我院师生对图像处理研究方向有了更深的理解与认识，对今后的科学研究有着重要的指导意义，并对新加坡留学的相关情况有了新认识。
Weisi Lin is an active researcher in image processing, perception-based signal modeling and assessment, video compression, and multimedia communication systems. In the said areas, he has published 180+ international journal papers and 230+ international conference papers, 7 patents, 9 book chapters, 2 authored books and 3 edited books, as well as excellent track record in leading and dellvering more than 10 major funded projects (with over S$7m research funding). He is a Professor and the Programme Director (Special Projects) In School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, where he also served as the Associate Chair (Graduate Studies) in 2013-2014. He is Fellow of IEEE and IET，and an Honorary Fellow of Singapore Institute of Engineering Technologists. He has been elected as a Distinguished Lecturer in both IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (2016-17) and Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (2012-13). He has been an Associate Editor for IEEE TIP, IEEE TCSVT, IEEE TMM, IEEE SPL etc. He was also chaired the IEEE MMTC QoE Interest Group (2012 2014).
